Safeguarding information for Visitors

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child-centred.

This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.

The Governors and staff of Roding Primary School fully recognise the contribution it makes to safeguarding children.

We recognise that all staff members, including volunteers and visitors have a full and active part to play in protecting our children/young people from harm.

What to do if you are worried about something you see or hear whilst in school

Ask to speak with one ofthe school’s designated safeguarding leads.

If you are concerned about the conduct of a member of staff during your visit

Immediately inform the Headteacher. or If the Headteacher is unavailable, or your concernis about the Headteacher, ask to speak to the Chair of Governors – Mr Ian Starling.

What will happen next?

You will then be asked to record your concerns. This can be via the CPOMS systems if you have alog in or written; if it is a written statement we will ask you to sign your statement. or You can dictate your concerns to a member of the  safeguarding team and sign the statement.
